Laura Jones has won the 2024 Archibald prize for her portrait of Australian author Tim Winton.
Announced at the Art Gallery of New South Wales on Friday, the winning work was chosen unanimously by the judges from 1,005 entries and 57 finalists. Jones’ win marks the 14th time the prize has been awarded to a woman since the Archibald started in 1921.
