The remains of the last-known thylacine, thought for decades to have been lost, have in fact been sitting in the collection of a Tasmanian museum.

Researchers recently realised the remains entered the collection of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) in 1936 but hadn’t been properly identified.
