Australians overwhelmingly agree that “stealthing” – the non-consensual removal of a condom during sex – should be a crime, but more work needs to be done to make people familiar with the term, new research has found.

Stealthing is explicitly criminalised in four Australian jurisdictions – Tasmania, NSW, Victoria following the lead of the ACT, with Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia either considering legislation or reviewing sexual assault legislation for gaps.
