Early return is ‘recipe for disaster’ say experts, as Johnson resists pressure to follow Scottish lead
Scientists have cautioned against bringing forward the reopening of schools in England, warning it would be “a recipe for disaster” while prevalence of the virus remains high.
The warnings came as Boris Johnson faced pressure from his own MPs to follow Scotland’s lead after the first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, announced a phased return to the classroom from 22 February.
