Bill Shorten, the shadow government services minister, reckons Jobkeeper should be extended for travel agents, in the wake of comments from the head of Australia’s health department that international borders would remain “substantially” closed this year, despite Covid-19 vaccination rates.

Shorten also said on the Nine Network that state and federal governments should use local travel agents rather than “overseas based platforms” to book travel.
