A self-styled aristocrat, his Russian girlfriend, retired military officers and a former judge have gone on trial in Frankfurt on charges of plotting to violently overthrow the German state.
The court heard on Tuesday how the nine defendants allegedly plotted over a period of about 18 months to overthrow the state, in what the group is said to have called the “Reactivation of Germany”.
