At least five people were killed and another 18 were injured in a shooting early Sunday at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs.

The suspected shooter, 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich, is in custody, the chief of the Colorado Spring Police Department, Adrian Vasquez, said at a news conference Sunday morning. Aldrich immediately began shooting when he entered the club on Saturday, and at least two patrons quickly confronted him and subdued him, Vazquez said. “We owe them a great debt of thanks,” he said.
